PACIFIC RELINES a progressive Queensland based enterprise which specialises in all facets of grinding mill maintenance including:

• Liner changeouts (Steel, Rubber, Composite);
• Backing rubber replacement;
• Trunnion liner and trommel changeouts and repairs;
• Labour Hire;
• New Installations.

The company was established in 1996 and currently undertakes around 100 linerchange projects per year. We have completed projects at most major Australian mine sites and sites in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Malaysia, South Africa and Indonesia.

In April 2007 PACIFIC RELINES Pty Ltd was acquired as part of the SKILLED Group and continues to provide high quality maintenance and project services throughout Australia and overseas.

Safety

Pacific Relines considers the Occupational Health and Safety of all personnel associated with its operations to be of the utmost importance in the conduct of its business. To that end there is a documented safety system in place that covers the specific requirements of mill maintenance as well as more general areas of plant maintenance.

Competencies, Training and Experience

PACIFIC RELINES maintains a stable workforce and leverages the SKILLED heritage, experience & access to excellence people to develop & deliver superior mill reline & plant maintenance solutions to our clients. . All personnel have received the following training as a minimum requirement:

• QMITAB-Generic Mine Induction;
• Senior First Aid Certificate;
• Confined Space Awareness.

The company operates a training programme to ensure that all personnel are kept up to date with these requirements. In addition to the above there is a wide range of competencies held by company personnel including:

• Project Manager and Supervisory Personnel;
• Mechanical Fitters;
• Boilermakers;
• Electricians;
• Dogmen;
• Forklift Operators;
• Crane Operators;
• Linerhandler Operators;
• Aircraft Pilots.

Linerchange crews are made up of a mix of the required competencies. The majority of personnel have been with the company for in excess of 4 years and some since the commencement of operations in 1996. At least 10 personnel employed by the company have in excess of 10 years experience in mill reline work.

PACIFIC RELINES has extensive experience in the operation of all types of reline equipment manufactured by Russell Mineral Equipment and McLennan.

Mobilisation

Mobilisation of company personnel and equipment is carried out via a mix of commercial air travel, company aircraft and road travel. The operation of a company aircraft affords us flexibility and an ability to mobilise a crew at short notice if required.

Planning and Reporting

The key to successful plant maintenance shutdowns is planning. As the mill reline work is often the critical path task on a shutdown we develop a detailed plan for each project to maximise the effectiveness of available resources and minimise project time. This plan is presented to the principal for examination and comment in the lead up to the project. A detailed report is presented to the principal upon the completion of each project. Progress outcomes, safety issues and recommendations for future projects are covered in this report.

Manufacturing of Specialist Equipment

PACIFIC RELINES has designed and manufactured specialist tooling and equipment for some time. Most recently we developed and built a number of small liner handlers as retrofit machines in existing plants. These have been developed in response to legislative requirements on lifting and the tendency toward larger and heavier liner components.
